Are your client companies loyal to you? How about your candidates?
Do you have to think about the answer to these questions? If you do, there’s even more you should be thinking about.
You’re a sales person. You sell opportunities and you sell talent. And any successful sales person will tell you that if you’re customer base isn’t loyal, it won’t be profitable in the long run. That’s because customers who aren’t loyal will shop somewhere else and they’ll buy somewhere else, and they won’t need much prompting in order to do so.
Sure, it’s not the 1950s anymore, and the concept of loyalty in business is nearly as antiquated as full-service gas stations, but there is good news. You can absolutely, positively create and cultivate loyalty with everyone you deal with, from hiring managers to candidates to other recruiters, and you can benefit from that loyalty not just in 2008, but for many years to come.
